The priorities of the Greek Institute for Building Technology and Science (EITEK) are:

• The protection of the ecosystem, by removing harmful substances that create environmental damage to soil, water and air.

• Safeguarding of users, reducing and eliminating their exposure to risks wherever possible

• Saving water and material resources

• Saving energy with use of renewable sources by minimizing and eventually zeroing the energy production from fossil and nuclear resources

• Reducing waste production and zeroing their burial in the ground combined with modern methods of treatment and recycling of waste

• Increasing use and thus the production of safe and environmentally friendly products and services for human health and the environment

• Reversing the existing negative factors of obsolescence and environmental degradation

• Educating and informing citizens, by bringing the younger ages closer to the older

• Committing business managements and bodies to declare and apply environmental policy

• Checking, evaluation and certification of professionals, services, products and finally buildings having to do with keeping and using environmentally responsible actions
